Spotlight on Career Services video for UAT101

This video is an example of one of many deliverables generated which effectively communicates and emphasizes unique qualities such as cognition, affect, and behavior. The strengths of these unique qualities are leveraged to inform the design of human computer interaction specifically for a course which onboards incoming undergraduate students enrolled in online programs through UAT.

The primary audience for this video centers on incoming students accepted into undergraduate, online UAT programs. It was also written to incoming on-ground students as well as parents.

The purpose of the video is to be a brief and engaging video to introduce the types of ways students can obtain help with professional development needs outside of structured classes. Since past videos were dated, I decided to apply a style which would serve the needs of Career Services and UAT which underscored how students could be helped independent of the name of the advisor or social media trends.

The geometric backgrounds with the squares and hexagons were enhanced from pre-exiting UAT marketing materials and content and integrated to design a template with continuity for scenes without people.

I was responsible for evaluating the existing and past, videos interviewing the subject matter expert (Career Services Advisor), storyboarding each scene in the video, determining the recommended runtime, writing the script, pre-production, building and coordinating the team which included three Digital Video students, finding actors and extras, and involved in post production editing.

All UAT subject matter experts, instructional design & curriculum involved approved of the video.

Because of the success of the video, UAT decided to create a student internship partnering with the Digital Video program champion to continue creating videos for the Curriculum, Career Services, Student Services, and marketing.
