Books N Story
Lore - 11/06/2002 [6:46pm mst]
It seems I missed a few things. First off, I didn't catch
the new Legends book. Apparently there is a new Legends 2 book (The book with all the
story written by favorite authors in 2000). I must have missed the post or I deleted
the wrong emails. Anyways Ray has sent in his story to the publisher of the next Legends
book. I wonder when it’s coming out and what’s the short story is all about. I guess
I'll have to look it up.
And Ray has chalked up another story. This one called, "That Kind of Girl".
Based on some research he is doing in strip clubs. Though I got my own idea for such a
story. But I'm not going to say since I don't want to steal Ray's book from him.
Valley of Sun
Lore - 10/16/2002 [11:46pm mst]
Greeting from Phoenix. Those who have found this
site from its old home, Welcome. I have been absent from Usenet for quite some time. I
currently don't have a Local ISP. And have been using the colleges T1 connection. However
they don't allow use of any of the nntp protocols. So I'm limited to what I can do
there. So I can't check up on the news like I used to, since Usenet is cut off from me.
If you want to know more about it just visit
The PIT News section.
Ray has announced that two of his books Crawler and Dark Mage will be combine
in to one. Due to the character of Sidi’s role being changed. I won’t take either book
off the coming soon list until Ray starts writing the one book or both. Its called I'll
wait and see what he does before acting. Though in the past, he seems on target about
future books, but not the names.
And as of last week Ray returned to his home, and hopefully back to his typewriter.
He has mentioned another tour. This time just in major States city and the friendly people of Canada.
The Tour is schedule for next year.
I have gone through and removed any reference to the Tour that took place,
since such news is in accurate, miss leading and old. The Tour Date from this years tour
to Europe and Australia is linked in Tour dates final
news post.
Shade of future
Lore - 8/20/2002 [11:46pm est]
Unfortunately I’ll be missing for a
couple of weeks. I'm going back to college for another degree, but in computer
graphics. So I'm moving down to Phoenix, Arizona to attend
UACT .
The site will be still up at its current home but look for it to be on the moving
again soon.
Just to run my paces, Ray got another short book I think? Its "One to Go," in the new
Thieve's World: Turning Point collection, edited by Lynn Abbey. Its due to come out
later this year. This is vary confusing but Ray posted up the message in the
mailing-list. And there has been no mention of it since. So this makes me quite
suspicious.
Now for little tidbits. We have Demons in the fifth circle of hell and the Dread
in the Seventh. So what’s in the Sixth? It would be the "children of the void," which
would include critters like wraiths, specters, and other life draining critters, but
with some physical properties.
-Spoiler Books not written
Port Vykor becomes the Seat for the Duke of the Southern Marches.
Erik von Darkmoor becomes Knight-Marshal of Krondor and the Crimson Eagles filter
back in to the regular army.
Tour dates final
Lore - 8/19/2002 [1:26pm est]
These are the final tour dates. Please note
that this is always subject to change at any moments notice. It may change days or
hours before the event.
So if Ray doesn't show up to the schedule event do not be angry. He might have
gotten lost, or other circumstances may have occurred. Nothing is written in stone
until it happens and becomes history.
You'll find the tour dates in the link below.
Raymond's "European/Australia" Tour 2002
One more Thing
Lore - 7/3/2002 [8:26pm est]
Ray listed tour dates for his coming tour in European/Australia tour of
2002. He said his artennary is of him drink heavily then puking. Since he claims:
>"The events btw are me yakin' for a half hour
> then signing." :)-Raymond Feist
So he is signing his puke. Makes me want to see that. And I'm just joking about the puking thing....
Oh in more "Coming Soon" book news. There maybe another Legends of RiftWar
book coming, only if the sales for MiL are good. Ray is hope he could do another
story that continues the story out of MiL. The next book (only if sales are good)
would be called Murder at the Three Swords.
One more thing! Ray has stated that he would write anything you want for Ten
million. I guess I better call my cousin Bill and see if he can send some money.
Cause I got this great story about this wizard who gets infused into his computer.
Then his friend install Windows for Wizards™ . And everything goes down in
flames.
Fans scare?
Lore - 6/16/2002 [9:46pm est]
Someone flipped out in the mailing list.
And started to compare names to real names found in the real world, and started
asking Ray if there is some sort of relation or hidden message. May I be the
first to say he is not Shakespeare and finding out what this passage means
for your English paper doesn't need to exisit. The Human language is a horrible
example of communications.
"Words are, of course, the most powerful drug used by mankind."
(Rudyard Kipling, Speech, February 14, 1923)
MiL should be found in Oz and what Ray refers to LongWhiteCloudLand.
I assume that's the highlands of Scotland. And Talon wont be in stores until
September, spring of 2003 in the States. As stated in earlier news post (Look
Below).
For Budding new writers, Raymond has a B.A. in Communication
Arts from the University of California, San Diego. With an emphasis in Mass
Market and Public Opinion. So that's something to think about when you're looking
to majoring in writing books.
Paper States
Lore - 6/5/2002 [6:53pm est]
The paperback version of Krondor Tear of
Gods is out in the States. It's all in black, with white lettering and a gold
imagine of a guy on a horse raising a torch. So look for the book in your local
bookstore or Barnes and Noble if you live in the States.
September Tour
Lore - 5/12/2002 [2:59pm est]
Raymond is on a tour this September 2002.
Doing book signings for the Magician Anniversary. The tour will be through European and Australia.
And another note. I think the newsgroup is dead. Its been almost a month since someone
post there. Hell, even the mailing list is slow. Maybe its time for me to find a new hobby.
Good News vs Bad
Lore - 3/1/2002 [8:06pm est]
Belevie it or not Ray has mention potential
release dates of the following books.
UK - Murder in Lamut May 2002
UK - Talon of the SilverHawk Semptember 2002
USA - Talon of the SilverHawk March 2003
UK - King of Foxes 2004
Did You Know? And here is your did you know fact for the year. Ray wrote
a short essay while he was back in the days with Doubleday. The essay called "Alien Wine"
was part of the "Spectra/Foundation" series of Fiction books. Look it up in the Doubleday
catalogue (btw do the research yourself).
And for the Bad news. Ray had this to say in the Mailing list after
responding to a message posted by one of the subscribers.
>After Conclave, the Third Riftwar starts, and that should be a three
>book series.
>
>Best, R.E.F.
So currently now the Third Riftwar will be a seprate series when it was
hopefully going to take place in the Shadow series. How is he going to find the time to
write 20 plus books to wrap up this Riftwar stuff. Okay its not really bad news, but close enough.
King of Shadows
Lore - 1/14/2002 [6:40pm est]
Back on January 8, 2002; Ray has announced the next book in the
Shadow series. King of Foxes will follow Talon the Silverhawk. As Talon is in the last stages
of writing and Murder in LaMut is waiting to be accepted by the publisher. A reminder to
Feist fans; HE, MiL, JtH will not come out in the States. As the contract bindings will
not allow those book to come out in the States. Ray claims it will be soon when you will
be able to see these books out in the States.
Ray also has deicide that the Conclave of Shadows will contain the Third Riftwar. For more
information on the Third Riftwar read news updates Riftwar Events and Old news thats important.
To last years
