Darkwar Saga
Lore

If you been keeping track of the names for REF's latest books and
series name you'll notice the titles have changed several times. The last two books
of the Conclave series in are now the first three in the next Series called Darkwar
Saga. The first book former title of "Agent of Madness" is now "Agent of Chaos". Which
will change again because of similarities with another book by Paul Anderson. So the
first book might be named "Agent of Darkness" or worse "Spy vs Spy".
The second book which was the last in Conclave is now might be titled "In to a Dark
Realm". While the third could be called "Wrath of a Mad God".
Whats new?

Talon of the Silver Hawk paperback version is out in the
States, as well as the King of Foxes Hardcover. I thought it was interesting when I
walked into the Barnes N Noble here in Phoenix that the books where in their own
cardboard display in the aisle. The Publisher in the States also broke away from
their plain covers and is going with a more artistic conceptual drawing version for
the book cover. So they are spending a little more money, shocking.
The Legends 2 composition hasn't manifested itself in States book stores yet. Which
is starting to make me wonder about this anticipated book, as I have known about it for
about two years it seems and nothing has appeared. Ahh it's what the game industry calls
vapor-ware, its the invisible book.
I have been putting this tidbit off until a little more concrete information
presents itself, but it appears that Roaring Studio's wants to do another comic
based off from REF's books. The detials of which story they plan on doing is unknown at
this time.

REF claims he has hit his deadline for Exile's Return. So I'm
assuming that Exile's Return is done for its September release in the UK. For
the UK release dates go to amazon.co.uk.
While King of Foxes (Hardback), will be available in the States finally in April
of 2004.
James from the Mailing-List asked a few question in the Mailing-List that I
think might clarify a few things, so I'll post up a quote of the message.
Q: Does anyone know how long before the Riftwar the Chaos Wars started?
A: About two thousand years.
Q: And about how long they lasted?
A: Chaos Wars broke the rules of time and space. They lasted however long
they lasted. No one knows.
Best, R.E.F.
A large debated issued on the aspect of " is it really REF on the Mailing-List
and occasionally the abrf ". To reply to this I would say I’m not so sure. Are we
really who we say we are. Or could this be some elaborate imagination concocted by
you to entertain yourself as you sit in your insane asylum cell. Someone was running
the theory that this was all a conspiracy by book publishers to deceive John into
giving away his money and time on REF books. All caused and fashioned by creative
operatives to disguise the truth from John. The truth is out there Fox Mulder.
Anyways as REF noted, why would they go to such extent when the publishers are a
little too cheap to spend that much money. So, thanks REF for being cool about
being in these forums. Being able to talk to the author about his works is very
humbling and insightful.

The Comic by Roaring Studios based on the Wood boy will be out this year in May.
If you are interest in the Comic, you might be able to find it in a Comic shop near
you. For those living in the US or Canadian you can go to
http://csls.diamondcomics.com/default.asp
and enter in your zip code.
You can see the image of the comic book cover at Roaring
Studio's of the Wood Boy Cover.
There was a little slip of the tongue in the Mailing list. Raymond's motif of the
story for Conclave is sort of running alone the plots of Talon the Silver Hawk is
about change. King of Foxes is about effects of change and Exile's Return is about
consequences of change. I wonder if the Forth book The Dark Empire is official gone
now. Of course I don't want to commit on it just incase I come up wrong on that.
The Authors perfered editorials for Prince of the Blood and The Kings Buccaneer
were quoted to being Volume 1 and 2 of "Krondor's Sons". This would mean that the
Series that I'm calling Intermediate will need to be changed. But I'll wait to see
the final outcome when the books are featured on the shelf to make the change. Rumor
is that the release date is sometime this June of 2004, USA only. But that’s a
rumor, and I hate rumors.
